Mt. Vernon E2 Stoves Recall Notice
Company Statement:
Hearth & Home Technologies® is issuing a product recall on an isolated group of Quadra-Fire® pellet stoves and inserts due to potential glass breakage when not maintained per the cleaning requirements outlined in the owner's manual. Although no injuries have been reported, Hearth & Home Technologies is proactively issuing this recall in collaboration with the CPSC to reinforce its firm commitment to consumer safety.
This recall involves select pellet stoves and inserts manufactured between February 2014 - January 2015. Approximately 2,000 units may be affected.
Consumers who purchased a Quadra-Fire Mt. Vernon E2 during this isolated date range should have already been contacted by Hearth & Home Technologies and/or their local dealer or distributor. Consumers who have not been contacted but are concerned they have a Mt. Vernon E2 that falls within the isolated date range should turn the blue dial on their stove or insert to -4 and follow the daily maintenance requirements outlined in the owner's manual. They should also contact the dealer or distributor where the unit was purchased to arrange for a free inspection and installation of an enhanced control board, if necessary.
All units with serial numbers within the range listed below will require an enhanced control board. Serial numbers for Mt. Vernon E2 pellet stoves are printed on the unit rating plate, located on the back of the stove, and serial numbers for Mt. Vernon E2 pellet inserts are located on the bead chain on the right side of the insert.

You can also check your unit's serial number against the affected serial numbers above, which are printed on the unit rating plate, located on the back of the stove, or located on the bead chain on the right side of the insert:
