Federal Tax Credit (US Only)
Effective January 1st, 2023, a new Wood and Pellet Heater Investment Tax Credit came into effect for qualifying purchases completed on or after that date, through December 31, 2032. Found under section 25(C) of the tax code as modified by the "Inflation Reduction Act of 2022", this new credit covers 30 percent of the purchase and installation costs (up to a $2,000 annual credit) for tax years 2023 through 2032.
To qualify, the stove or insert must burn biomass as a fuel, heat air or water, and be at least 75 percent efficient per the higher heating value of the fuel. Installations at primary or secondary residencies can be claimed, and both the purchase and installation costs (venting and related materials, onsite labor) can be included in your total cost.
To get started, connect with your local authorized Quadra-Fire dealer with questions and to determine a qualifying selection that best meets your heating needs. Once installation is complete, be sure to keep your receipt, including product and installation, and download and save our 2023-2032 manufacturer’s certificate so you can claim the credit without issue. This is a non-refundable tax credit. Please consult your tax advisor prior to purchase to see what this tax credit means for you.
The Quadra-Fire qualifying products include:
- Pellet: Trekker stove, Trekker insert, Outfitter II, Outfitter I
- Wood: Discovery I and 2100M stoves

Ongoing Wood Stove Changeout & Incentive Programs
A wood stove changeout program is a voluntary program initiated at the local, state or regional level that provides eligible communities incentives to positively impact air quality. Residents of participating communities can receive rebates, low/no interest loans and/or discounts to replace their old appliances, with newer, more efficient wood or pellet stoves and fireplaces.
Find a program near you by visiting the HPBA Woodstove Changeout initiative.
Your local authorized Quadra-Fire dealer will be happy to guide you to the right product for your home that qualifies for local incentive programs.
