If you have young children, you’re likely a professional baby-proofer. You’ve taken steps to keep your children out of harm’s way. However, if you have a gas fireplace, you may have a safety concern.
If it’s a Quadra-Fire gas fireplace, rest assured that your family is safe. It’s a commitment and a promise to your family.
The Quadra-Fire Commitment to safety comes in three categories: Glass Safety, Indoor Air Quality and Pilot Control:
Glass Safety
Safety barrier screens help prevent potential serious burns. At Quadra-Fire, we believe that every gas fireplace should be equipped with a safety barrier screen. It is for that reason we began outfitting all of our Direct Vent gas fireplaces with screens as standard equipment starting in 2003. We saw the potential for an accident and proactively took steps to keep you and your family safe.
Today, Quadra-Fire (from Hearth & Home Technologies) is still the only manufacturer to take this proactive step. In fact, Quadra-Fire took the additional step this year to lead an industry group that helped bring about an update to the gas fireplace safety standards. The updated standards will require all manufacturers to provide safety barrier screens on all Direct Vent gas fireplaces and inserts—a standard that Quadra-Fire has lived by for almost 10 years.
Indoor Air Quality
Direct Vent technology bolsters fireplace safety for you and your family. Direct vent fireplaces expel 100% of your fire’s smoke, exhaust and odors outside the home. These fireplaces provide optimal heat, and ensure clean, safe indoor air quality.
How does it all work? One single line of dual-walled direct vent piping brings air in and blows exhaust out. A sealed glass front maintains indoor air quality—the smoke and everything else goes outside. To learn more, watch the video below.
Pilot Control
The IntelliFire™ Ignition System (IPI) is an advanced intermittent pilot ignition system. IPI constantly monitors ignition to ensure safe functioning. To learn more, watch the video.
