While most dealers offer it, there are also many many independent professional installers. Your dealer can refer you to an expert.
Step 1: Check your insurance. Is your pellet stove approved for mobile home heating?
Step 2: Map out a realistic budget for your project. Do your planned purchase costs align with your budget? Consider the unit’s price as well as the cost of fuel, venting, installation and a hearth pad. Consult with your dealer to get a final breakdown of the cost.
Step 3: Determine the size and type of pellet stove that’s right for your space. Commonly pellet stoves call for two to four inches of clearance on all sides.
Step 4: Does your mobile home already have a fireplace? If so, you’ll need a pellet stove insert, which is installed in the hearth and vented through the chimney using a venting kit.
Step 5: Install your pellet stove for an even heating experience. Seeing that most mobile homes have a similar floor plan, you’ll install your stove in the living room, an optimal central location.
Step 6: You’ll also need to consider the two-inch aluminum intake pipe and fireproof insulation-wrapped vent pipe. If you’re installing the stove vertically, the pipes will exit through the roof, If you plan on a horizontal installation, they’ll exit through the wall.
